Dashboard Migration - Frequently Asked Questions
We are migrating dashboards from direct Tableau access into our secure Intelligence Centre within the new MyStudyportals Hub to provide a more seamless, professional, and centralised experience. This allows you to access your dashboard modules alongside other resources, documentation, and tools in one place, without needing to navigate multiple systems.

Overview & Purpose
Why are you making this change?
We are moving dashboards into our MyStudyportals Hub to provide a more seamless, secure, and consistent experience for our clients. The hub allows us to centralise access, improve usability, strengthen security controls, and better support future enhancements. This change also reduces reliance on external platforms and enables us to deliver a more integrated analytics experience over time.
Can I continue using the old system (Tableau)?
No. Once the migration is complete, dashboards will no longer be accessible through Tableau. All dashboard modules will be available exclusively through the MyStudyportals Hub going forward.
Access & Login
How will I access my dashboard modules after the migration?
Dashboard modules will be accessed through Intelligence Hub using your MyStudyportals Hub login credentials. Once logged in, you will be able to navigate directly to the Intelligence Centre, where you will find your dashboard modules without needing to log in to Tableau separately.
Will I still need a Tableau account?
No. After the migration, you will not need a separate Tableau account to view dashboards. All access will be handled through MyStudyportals Hub.
Will my login credentials change?
Your Tableau login will no longer be used. On the day of the migration, you will receive credentials for MyStudyportals Hub, which will be your primary method of access going forward. You may choose to set the same password as your Tableau account for convenience, though you are free to create a new password if you prefer.
Dashboard Functionality
Will the dashboard modules look or behave differently?
The dashboard modules themselves will remain functionally the same, including filters, interactivity, and visuals. In addition, MyStudyportals Hub provides a more user-friendly and convenient overview of all your dashboard modules in one place, making it easier to navigate, manage access, and discover additional dashboards that may be relevant to your needs. The underlying data, calculations, and logic remain unchanged.
Will I still be able to export data and images?
Export options (such as downloading data, images, or PDFs) will continue to be available where supported.
Will performance be affected?
Dashboard performance should be comparable to what you experience today. In some cases, performance may improve due to optimised access and reduced authentication steps.
Will my saved views be preserved?
Saved views from Tableau will not be available after the migration. Once dashboard modules are accessed through the Intelligence Centre, users will need to recreate any custom views they wish to save. We recommend noting any important saved views prior to the transition.
Security & Permissions
Is MyStudyportals Hub secure?
Yes. MyStudyportals Hub is designed with enterprise-grade security standards, including secure authentication, encrypted connections, role-based access controls, and support for multi-factor authentication (MFA).
How is access to dashboard modules managed?
Access is managed at the client and user level within the hub. Users will only see dashboard modules and data they are authorised to view.
Will this migration affect email notifications, alerts, or reports from Tableau?
Tableau has announced updated email security requirements that may affect the delivery of emails such as reports, alerts, and notifications from Tableau Cloud and TableauID.
If TLS encryption (using STARTTLS) is not enabled on your organisation’s mail server by January 31, 2026, your organisation will no longer receive these emails.
The required action depends on your Tableau email configuration:
-
If you are using Tableau’s default email settings:
TLS 1.2 or higher must be enabled on your receiving mail server. -
If you have customised Tableau email notifications to use a dedicated SMTP mail server:
TLS 1.2 or higher must be enabled on both the sending and receiving mail servers.
For optimal security, Tableau recommends upgrading to TLS 1.3, although TLS 1.2 will remain supported.
We recommend sharing this information with your IT or email administration team to ensure uninterrupted delivery of Tableau emails.
Transition & Timing
When will this change take place?
The migration is planned for 9 February 2026. We will communicate the migration timeline in advance, including key dates and any actions required from clients.
Will there be downtime during the transition?
We expect little to no downtime. If any temporary interruptions are anticipated, clients will be notified ahead of time.
What do I need to do to prepare?
In most cases, no action is required. You will only be asked to:
- Follow the instructions to set up your new account
-
Confirm user access
-
Confirm that you have access to the dashboards you are subscribed to
-
Update/remove bookmarks previously pointing to Tableau URLs
Support & Training
Will training or documentation be provided?
Yes. We will initially offer short training sessions to help users navigate MyStudyportals Hub and the Intelligence Centre, as well as access their dashboard modules. Over time, we also plan to develop a library of guides and walkthroughs for ongoing reference.
Who should I contact if I experience issues?
If you encounter any issues accessing dashboard modules or notice unexpected behaviour, please contact our support team in your region:
- EMEA: Damaris Clark
- UKI: Archie Pollock
- NA: Andrew Ness
- APAC: Carlie Sage
Future Enhancements
Will new features be added to the Intelligence Centre over time?
Yes. The Intelligence Centre allows us to continuously improve the experience and introduce new features such as shared resources, external data sources, and deeper integration with other Studyportals services.
Will this change affect pricing or contract terms?
This migration does not change existing contracts or pricing unless otherwise communicated separately.
