Dashboard Migration - Frequently Asked Questions

We are migrating dashboards from direct Tableau access into our secure client portal to provide a more seamless, professional, and centralised experience. This allows you to access dashboards alongside other resources, documentation, and tools in one place, without needing to navigate multiple systems.

Below, you will find answers to some of the most frequently asked questions. If you cannot find an answer to your question, please use the button below to contact us.

Access & Login

How will I access my dashboards after the migration?

Dashboards will be accessed through our client portal using your portal login credentials. Once logged in, you will be able to navigate directly to your dashboards without needing to log in to Tableau separately.

Will I still need a Tableau account?

No. After the migration, clients will not need a separate Tableau account to view dashboards. All access will be handled through the client portal.

Will my login credentials change?

Your Tableau login will no longer be used. On the day of the migration, you will receive credentials for the client portal, which will be your primary method of access going forward.

Dashboard Functionality

Will the dashboards look or behave differently?

The dashboards themselves will remain functionally the same, including filters, interactivity, and visuals. Some minor differences in layout or loading behaviour may occur due to embedding, but the underlying data and logic will not change.

Will I still be able to export data and images?

Export options (such as downloading data, images, or PDFs) will continue to be available where supported.

Will performance be affected?

Dashboard performance should be comparable to what you experience today. In some cases, performance may improve due to optimised access and reduced authentication steps.

Will my saved views be preserved?

Saved views from Tableau will not be available after the migration. Once dashboards are accessed through the client portal, users will need to recreate any custom views they wish to save. We recommend noting any important saved views prior to the transition.

Security & Permissions

Is the client portal secure?

Yes. The client portal is designed with enterprise-grade security standards, including secure authentication, encrypted connections, and role-based access controls.

How is access to dashboards managed?

Access is managed at the client and user level within the portal. Users will only see dashboards and data they are authorised to view.

Transition & Timing

When will this change take place?

The migration is planned for 9 February 2026. We will communicate the migration timeline in advance, including key dates and any actions required from clients.

Will there be downtime during the transition?

We expect little to no downtime. If any temporary interruptions are anticipated, clients will be notified ahead of time.

What do I need to do to prepare?

In most cases, no action is required. You will only be asked to:

  • Follow the instructions to set up your new account
  • Confirm user access

  • Confirm that you have access to the dashboards you are subscribed to

  • Update/remove bookmarks previously pointing to Tableau URLs

Support & Training

Will training or documentation be provided?

Yes. We will initially offer short training sessions to help users navigate the client portal and access their dashboards. Over time, we also plan to develop a library of guides and walkthroughs for ongoing reference.

Who should I contact if I experience issues?

If you encounter any issues accessing dashboards or notice unexpected behaviour, please contact our support team in your region:

Future Enhancements

Will new features be added to the client portal over time?

Yes. The client portal allows us to continuously improve the experience and introduce new features such as shared resources, external data sources, and deeper integration with other Studyportals services.

Will this change affect pricing or contract terms?

This migration does not change existing contracts or pricing unless otherwise communicated separately.
