Professor Graham Galbraith

Vice-Chancellor University of Portsmouth

Graham Galbraith has been Vice-Chancellor at the University of Portsmouth since 2013.  Previous roles include Deputy Vice-Chancellor at the University of Hertfordshire (2008-2013), and Pro Vice-Chancellor (International) at Glasgow Caledonian University (1993-2008).

Professor Galbraith gained a BSc (1st class) in Environmental Engineering, a MSc Mechanical Engineering and a PhD from the University of Strathclyde.  He also holds Chartered Engineer status and Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.

In 2018, he was elected in the Universities UK Board; he also chairs its Longer Term Strategy Network.  Professor Galbraith is a member of the UPP Foundation Advisory Board, the NCUB Council and also a Member of the Chartered Institution for Building Service Engineers.  He has been twice-elected to the CBI South East Regional Council.

He writes regularly on higher education issues.
