Retired Chairman Pearson Higher Education North AmericaBill Barke is the retired Chairman of Pearson North America Higher Education. An industry game-changer, Bill pioneered the use of technology to personalize learning in higher education. The programs launched under his leadership-MyLab and Mastering technologies—currently serve over ten million students. Bill served on the boards of Academic Partnerships and Jumpstart, the latter an organization serving disadvantaged preschool children. His previous board and/or advisory experience include Sagence Learning, Knewton, Flat World, Advent International and Ellevation. He is a Limited Partner in Rethink Education and a Council Member for GLG research. Bill recently became an Adviser to the Board of Trustees at the American College of Education, having previously served as a member of the Board.
