
Jane Gatewood, PhD
Vice Provost, Emory UniversityJane Gatewood (PhD) was the inaugural Vice Provost for Global Engagement at the University of Rochester (New York, USA) where she led the institution’s global strategy and initiatives. Her position at the University of Rochester finalized in 2025, now she is the Vice Provost at Emory University. She has been a Fulbright-Nehru scholar (India) and an Andrew W. Mellon Fellow at the School of Advanced Study (University of London). She was a visiting research editor for the Oxford English Dictionary (3rd Edition, Oxford University Press), and she is the contributing editor of NAFSA’s Guide to International Partnerships (2020). Her academic training and expertise are in modern literary history, lexicography, and corpus linguistics. She regularly consults and speaks on the importance of partnerships to international higher education.
