Partnerships Director of South East Asia

Angela is responsible for driving new business growth and strategic partnerships development across Southeast Asia, while strengthening Studyportals’ brand and market presence in the region. She works closely with universities and higher education institutions to understand their international recruitment priorities, identify areas of alignment and develop tailored solutions. Her role focuses on expanding Studyportals’ institutional network and building long-term partnerships that support sustainable growth.

Angela brings around 20 years of experience in the education sector, with a broad background spanning international education, student recruitment, marketing, partnerships and transnational education. Her experience across Malaysia and the wider Asia region has given her a strong understanding of the dynamics shaping institutional growth and international engagement. She is passionate about building meaningful partnerships and bringing together market insights, strategic thinking and sector knowledge to create lasting value for higher education institutions.

Angela’s key challenge is navigating a diverse and rapidly evolving global higher education landscape, where changing student demand, institutional needs and market dynamics continue to shape international recruitment. She focuses on understanding these shifts and helping universities strengthen their international reach, adapt their recruitment strategies and make more informed decisions that support their international goals.

Angela’s favourite part of Studyportals is the people and the international perspective they bring. She enjoys working with colleagues across different markets, exchanging ideas and learning from diverse experiences, while being part of a team that is passionate about connecting institutions and students across borders.

Angela enjoys travelling, exploring new places and experiencing different cultures. She loves discovering local food, trying new experiences and finding inspiration in people and places she encounters along the way. She sees travel as a way to continually learn, gain new perspectives and stay curious about the world.
