Cath D'Amico

Senior Business Developer, VP North America

As Senior Business Developer, VP North America, Cath connects with top universities to facilitate diversity and international enrolments on campuses, providing international student mobility insights to support new enrolment and the retention of international cohorts. As part of the North American Studyportals team, Cath supports her team’s success through collaboration, shared knowledge, and experience in the sector.

Cath’s career in international education began in the language sector, running ESL camps and managing English language programs in the private sector. Cath shifted into higher education, working at a university where she administered the English language program, spent some time working in Human Rights, Equity, and Accessibility, and then moved into Global Enrolment and Business Strategy. In almost 30 years of working with international students from all over the world, Cath has developed strong understanding of people, and places deep value in the transformational value of international education.

Realizing the dream of studying in another country is a complicated undertaking. With innovative tools that exist through Studyportals, students can conduct thorough research to identify the programs, schools, and destinations that lead to the manifestation of these dreams. It takes strong perseverance and the support of the proverbial village, but obstacles can be overcome and dreams can be realized!

Cath has the unique experience of having worked with a Studyportals’ partner institution before joining the Studyportals team. As a partner, Cath recognized the value to institutions to be visible and their academic programs information available on a globally recognized and centralized platform, providing students with information at their fingertips. It was clear that students relied on this information and engaged with Studyportals as part of their research into their futures. With the ability to narrow search criteria and identify prospective schools with their programs of choice, students could then engage with institutions and find their future path.

Cath aims to facilitate connections: connecting post secondary schools to Studyportals, and ultimately connecting students to the ideal school destination to pursue their study goals and begin their career path. Holding a strong belief in the value of internationalised higher education as part of one’s self-discovery and cultural competence development, connecting students to learning is a rewarding and gratifying experience.

Outside of work, Cath enjoys running in the countryside where she lives, along with her two golden retrievers- Ollie and Hank. An avid traveler, Cath enjoys experiencing culture through immersion, and learning languages to fully enjoy a new place.
