Rob van Schaijk
BU Manager UKI/EMEARob joined Studyportals in October 2015 as a Business Development Advisor in the UK & Ireland team. Over the following decade, the scope of Rob’s responsibilities has grown significantly. Rob currently manages the team working with universities and other organisations in the Higher Education sector across the UK & Ireland and the wider EMEA region. While still working directly with a select group of universities, most of his time is dedicated to the implementation and execution of the sales strategy.
Rob studied Business and Innovation at Avans University of Applied Sciences in ’s-Hertogenbosch. This programme had a strong focus on internationalisation, innovation, and entrepreneurship, leading to a semester of study in Japan and participation in an Erasmus project in Poland with 60 other international students. These experiences shaped the ambition to work in an international environment. In 2019, Rob successfully completed a Master’s programme at the University of Barcelona, further expanding knowledge in international business and management.
At Studyportals, Rob’s mission is to be of real significance to both clients and colleagues. Supporting universities in achieving their goals and ensuring satisfaction with results are central priorities. Creating a pleasant work atmosphere and fostering positive relationships with clients and colleagues are key, supported by enthusiasm, openness, and humour.
Rob’s biggest challenge is getting to know clients on a personal level. Understanding goals, needs, and the people behind the organisations is essential to delivering meaningful impact. Success is defined by the satisfaction and happiness of the people Rob works with.
