When students ask AI "Where should I study?", is your university in the answer?
More than half of Google searches now end without a single click. That number is only going up as AI search grows.
For universities, this is a recruitment problem. When a student asks an AI which schools offer a strong MBA or welcome international applicants, the answer comes from whatever information the AI can find (and synthesise) about your institution.
That means visibility no longer just depends on your search ranking. It depends on whether your tuition fees are clearly listed on your programme page, whether your unique strengths are written in plain language, and whether that information appears consistently across the web.
If it isn’t easy for an AI to find and understand, it won’t make the recommendation.
In the video below, Studyportals CPTO Emiel Romein breaks down what universities can do right now, including how to prepare for a world where students may never click through to your website at all.
