Studyportals would like to congratulate all universities and universities of applied sciences that won an award. Unlike university rankings, Studyportals’ International Student Satisfaction Awards are based on thousands of reviews and opinions from international students in Europe. Among the Finnish universities that received sufficient reviews of international students to be eligible for the 2014 International Student Satisfaction Awards, a total of 12 universities received ratings ranging from “excellent” (at least 9 out of 10) to “outstanding” (at least 9.5 out of 10).

Reasons to (not) recommend an international study experience

  • International students recommend Finland for high-level academics, great social life, and good university services
  • In comparison to the European average, students are extremely positive about the academics standards at their host university
  • Students mention university services less than the European average, probably because they have little to complain about
  • Students comment more on the surroundings than the European average, and generally complain about the lack of travel possibilities
  • International students in Finland find social life very important and are very satisfied with the offer
