Arthur Ashe: “Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can.”

Job summary/responsibilities

In this role, I will be the main liaison and SME for the ACT team in the North American market. As an integrated part of the BUNA team, I will assist my teammates with both new and existing accounts as it relates to the ACT product portfolio.

General introduction/background

I have spent the last (almost) 20 years of working in the international higher education space. I’m originally from Denmark but have spent the past decade in the US working for State University of New York, Southern New Hampshire University, and most recently Northeastern University, where I also served on the Board of Directors for the American International Recruitment Council.

Key challenge

To help our clients not only understand the value of our products and how we can help them meet their short and long-term goals, but also to make it easier and more intuitive for them to use our ACT products. As a university administrator/leader, it can be difficult to slow down and look at the data to help inform strategies and directions, so my key challenges are to ensure they a) understand the depth of information we can provide and how it can help them, and b) make it easy for them to find/use it dynamically and frequently.

Personal Goal

My personal goal is in line with Studyportals’ goal of making the world a better place bit by bit. I’m here because I truly believe the world becomes a better and more tolerant place if we all step outside of our bubble and engage deeply with other people and cultures. I grew up in a cozy bubble in Southern Denmark, and I didn’t realize how big the world really was (and how much I could learn from it) until I lived overseas for the first time and met others from around the world. I’m grateful to play a role in facilitating those types of opportunities for others.

Favourite activities

Outdoor activities suitable for New Hampshire (hiking, kayaking, biking, snowshoeing), yoga, traveling, entertaining my dog (and vice versa), healthy cooking, playing pool, among other things.
