The Global Student Satisfaction Awards are the only student-powered global university overview capturing feedback on life inside and outside the classroom.

The Awards empower students to share their views, to create recognition for the best universities in the world.

This year was particularly difficult for students with the global pandemic taking a toll on social inclusion and mental health. Student-centricity remains key in delivering transformational education and the Universities that received the highest ratings from students this year went above and beyond to make sure students felt supported and engaged.

New categories were introduced to look at student experience in online classroom experience, and Covid-19 crisis management.

The awards ceremony included a Keynote address by Dr Fransec Pedro, Director of UNESCO’s International Institute for Higher Education who spoke about reimagining international student mobility.

Another of the keynote speakers, former Prime minster of the Netherlands, Prof. Dr. Jan Peter Balkenende will discuss how universities can support the sustainable development goals and help to expand access to education to rebuild better after Covid.

Edwin van Rest, CEO and founder of Studyportals: “The opportunity for students to shape the future of education delivery is unprecedented and exciting. Every institution has been challenged during the pandemic and now is the time for students to speak up on what worked well, and what didn’t. I’m confident that this year’s report will highlight some truly inventive solutions that all universities can learn from, and also provide a set of action points covering issues that need urgent attention.”

The Global Student Satisfaction 2021 Report represents an in-depth analysis of student experience, what they are content with, and where they would like to see improvements. The report will allow higher education professionals and industry experts to discover which are the most highly rated regions, as well as the top countries for student satisfaction.

This is the biggest dataset of student experience information in the world. The data generated helps governments and associations to make data-driven decisions on expanding access and answer market demand in the regions they target. Studyportals aim to close digital divides and enhance connectivity for education.
